Seeing as said event is our club championship race.. i was wondering if there would be any interest in making a night of it and getting rather blootered in newry.. newry ones sound like theyre putting on a bit of party! depending how you look at it, unfortunately it looks like the mourne cottage is a bit of a trek..
Spur of the moment thing, I know it's probably late notice but if people are interested lets get something organised or numbers at least. ill have a search for accomodation over the weekend, away to work now :(

Me and Kev were thinking it would be fun to meet at the pub for a few drinks after the open water swim tomorrow to help numb the frost bite. Possibly grab some food from somewhere as well.

Plans are TBC, depending on what people think at the swim (open to suggestions) but will try an a put a post up if any one wants to join who can't make the swim.

There is a Sprint Triathlon on in Kilrush, Co. Clare with a inter-club team category at the end of May. I think we should be able to get a good group together to give it a good shot.

The race is on May 27th, 2 weeks before Camlough, so great tune up race before the club championships!
I know its a bit of a drive down but as most people know West Clare is the best part of Ireland and well worth the journey. To sweeten the deal even more we have been offered free accommodation in Kilrush!

For anyone who doesn't already know, the titanic 10k and queens 5k are coming up.

I was going to register online for the 10k but its closed. Entry on the day is £15 for anybody interested.

For those of you who I haven't met I'm Rose, I've been coming to some of the training sessions for the last few months. At the Wednesday run session I mentioned that Iam looking for some "willing volunteers" to take part in a research project I am conducting as part of my PhD. The project is looking at the effects of the antioxidant lycopene, which is predominantly found in tomatoes, on post exercise oxidative stress and glucose transport mechanisms in healthy and diabetic populations

I was out cycling with some guys from the lunchtime legends group and got talking about the time trial league that they organise.

The calendar is done and details on pre-registration and the first night are on their website.

They have put me down as a contact for queens tri club. Peter/Michael/Thomas.. if any of you would rather be the contact point let me know :)

I'll be taking part in the races and I'm sure everybody could benefit from them. I was told that they start the week that the clocks go back.
