Catch me if you can Duathlon- Race Report
This race took place in sunny Dundalk to raise funds for Temple Street Childrens Hospital. The main attraction of the day was the Brownlee Brothers, the idea was that you would get a 3 minute head start on the brothers and see how long you could stay ahead of them over the 3.2km run, 17km bike and 3.2km run.
It started well with me running at a pace that I had no hope of maintaining for the whole race, as I wanted to have covered a bit of ground before I was overtaken. I almost even kept up with Dave Lonnen on the first run! I manged to get throught T1 forgeting to change my shoes resulting in me hurling my shoes at my rack as I hobbled towards the mount line.
However as soon as I got on the bike there was a blur and a flash of Union Jack and that was them in front. I took a rest collapsing over the Tri bars for a bit and then got back into it and finished the race. Congratulations has to go to Paul Carroll who was not overtaken untill the second run and also to Alistair who beat Jonny. However Jonny did admit to having fish and chips for super then night before.
Even without the Brownlees I would highly recommed this race the bike course is fast and the run is nice.

I was really sorry to miss this one. Sounds like you had fun. Great writing, by the way: ... a blur and a flash of Union Jack ... you should send your write-up to the Gown!
