Re:Freshers' Fair: Wed 1 February, 10.00-16.00
After the exam period, Re:Freshers' Fair is a second opportunity for us to recruit some new members to our sport. We are looking for some volunteers to help us man the stand in the Students' Union, even if you can only help for an hour or two. Please contact us if you can help!
Mini-Aquathon: Wed 8 February, 14.00-16.00
Following on from our previous mini-aquathon, this will be a 400m swim in the PEC pool followed by a 2 Km run. See if you can beat your previous time! Followed by beer and pizza in the Parlour.
Mourne Cottage Training Weekend: 9-11 March
Join us in the Mournes for a pre-season weekend of swimming, cycling and running! Our last weekend was great craic.
Beginners' Sprint-distance Triathlon, Sat 24 March (provisional)
We are planning on a small Triathlon event aimed mainly at students and newcomers to the sport. It will be clock timing only, but should be a good experience. More details to follow.
If you want to race this season, you will need to have a Triathlon Ireland membership card. Membership is only EUR 18.00 for students and includes insurance and an annual race license. Don't leave it to the last minute, sign up early!
Triathlon Ireland Race Calendar
The first of this year's TI races is Naas Duathlon Series 1 next Sunday. There are a number of Duathlon races over the next few months which are open for entry. It's also worth checking out the Athletics NI race calendar for running events.
A few of us have started running at 9am on Saturday mornings at Victoria Park Parkrun. This is a weekly, timed 5Km run, free to enter. And free cakes afterwards. What's not to like?
As always, the latest information about club training sessions and events is on the website.
Club members can create an account on the website, which allows you to upload photos, record your race results, keep a blog and chat in the forums.
That's all for now, see you in training!
Michael, Peter and Thomas
